The WTO (UK) Awards
Celebrating the people who inspire us.
Our awards honour excellence across business, medicine, technology, tourism and enterprise. Not everyone who is nominated is shortlisted, and not every category is awarded.
What the awards are
Recognition that matters
The WTO (UK) Awards exist to make excellence visible. Too often, remarkable work goes unrecognised — the entrepreneur who built a business from nothing, the clinician who went beyond the call of duty, the technologist whose ideas changed an industry.
Our awards change that. Each year, across our five conferences, we honour the people whose work lifts their profession, their industry and everyone around them.
How it works
From nomination to celebration
Nominations open
Anyone can nominate — colleagues, clients, friends or yourself. Nominations are free and open to all.
Shortlisting
Our team reviews every nomination against published criteria and draws up a shortlist for each category.
Independent judging
An independent panel of judges — senior figures from each field — selects the winners.
The ceremony
Winners are announced and honoured at the awards ceremony closing each conference.

Hall of Honour
Not everyone leaves with a trophy
Recognition only means something if it is hard to get. Every nomination is read, most do not reach the shortlist, and a category is left unawarded rather than given to the best of a weak field.

Nominations are open to all, and free to submit. Tell us about the people who deserve to be recognised.

Judging
Independent, published, defensible
Judges are drawn from outside the board and serve on a single category for a maximum of two years. Every entry is scored against published criteria, and any judge with a commercial relationship to a nominee stands down from that category.
Nominees are told where they placed. Shortlisted businesses receive the panel’s written feedback whether they win or not.
- Published criteria for every category
- Independent panel, refreshed every two years
- Conflicts of interest declared and recused
- Written feedback for every shortlisted nominee
Questions
Nomination FAQs
Who can join WTO (UK)?+
Any business owner, executive or professional working in the UK who shares our aims. Membership is not restricted by sector or size — from sole traders to listed companies.
How do the awards work?+
Nominations open each year and are free. Every entry is reviewed against published criteria, shortlisted, and judged by an independent panel of senior figures from the relevant field.
Can I nominate myself or my own business?+
Yes. Self-nomination is welcomed and judged on exactly the same basis as third-party nominations.
Do I have to be a member to attend an event?+
No. All conferences and awards evenings are open to non-members, though members pay a reduced delegate rate and receive priority booking.
What does sponsorship include?+
Packages range from category sponsorship of a single award through to headline partnership of a full conference. Every package is built around brand visibility, delegate access and hospitality.
